HIRU is a 3D Video Game for consoles & PC developed by Kenyan Game Studio, Kunta Content.

HIRU is a Maasai prince, the teenage son of a Maasai king. He is out herding cattle with his brother & goes back home to find his clan getting massacred by poachers for protecting a herd of elephants. His clan, family d his brother are all killed. His sister survives but is kidnapped by the poachers.

He embarks on a journey of vengeance and to save his sister while also seeking to "destroy" the poachers and safeguard maasai ancestral lands from environmental destruction.

The idea of the game was sketched out in 2014. I spent 7 years waiting for the tools, ability, equipment, resources, energy and talent to assemble and bring HIRU to life. We met as a team, became partners & started working on HIRU in 2020 after covid.

We have joined multiple programmes like the Africa Game Dev program (supported by Epic Games), Africa Games Co-production Market (supported by Ubisoft & Orange) and participated in Africa Games Week (supported by Google). In all these programmes Kunta Content was one of the leading teams and HIRU was one of the top & most anticipated games.

Kunta Content is run by Dean Gichukie with his partners & colleagues Telvin Njoroge, Kennedy Kyalo, Ian Okinda, Jeffrey Gichuki, Daniel Macharia, Yvonne Asiko & Boaz Leleina.
